Our Dice Roller Features

  • Standard Dice Options: Our dice roller includes standard dice choices with different side counts. Each option has its own shape, color, and pip arrangement, making it easy to identify the selected die.
  • Custom Dice: Our Custom Dice option lets you enter any whole-number side count from 3 to 100. The generated die uses the side count you enter and updates its displayed dots after each roll.
  • Multiple Dice: Our dice roller supports up to 50 dice in one selection. You can add the same die type more than once or combine different side counts in a single roll.
  • Automatic Total: After a roll is completed, our dice roller adds the generated results and displays the combined total automatically.
  • Individual Results: Our dice roller shows each selected die and its result separately, making it easier to review the outcome of a multi-dice roll.
  • Minimum, Maximum, and Average: Our statistics section shows the lowest result, highest result, average, and number of selected dice for the completed roll.
  • Roll Again: Our Roll Again button lets you generate another set of results using the same dice selection without adding the dice again.
  • Remove Last: Our Remove Last button removes the most recently added die while keeping the other selected dice unchanged.
  • Clear: Our Clear button removes the current dice selection and resets the current displayed results.
  • Roll History: Our dice roller records completed rolls in the history section during the current page session so recent results can be reviewed later.
  • Copy Results: Our Copy Results button copies the current individual results together with the combined total.
  • Responsive Interface: Our dice roller adjusts its layout for desktop, tablet, and mobile screens so the controls and results remain easier to use.

How Our Dice Rolls Work

When you press Roll, our dice roller generates a whole-number result for each selected die. The possible result starts at 1 and ends at the number of sides on that die. For example, a D6 can produce a result from 1 to 6, while a custom D25 can produce a result from 1 to 25.

Different dice can be combined in the same roll. Our dice roller keeps the result of each die separate before adding those values together to calculate the combined total.

Dice Probability

For a fair die, each individual face has the same theoretical chance of appearing. The basic probability formula is:

Probability = Favorable Outcomes ÷ Total Possible Outcomes

Example: One D6

A specific number on a fair D6 has one favorable outcome out of six possible outcomes.

Probability = 1 ÷ 6 = 1/6 ≈ 16.67%

Example: Two D6 Dice

Two D6 dice have 6 × 6 = 36 possible ordered outcomes. A total of 7 can be formed in six ways: 1+6, 2+5, 3+4, 4+3, 5+2, and 6+1.

Probability of a total of 7 = 6 ÷ 36 = 1/6 ≈ 16.67%

Total and Statistics

The total is the sum of all completed dice results in the current selection. Our statistics area also shows the minimum result, maximum result, average, and number of selected dice.

For example, if our dice roller generates results of 4, 7, and 9, the combined total is:

4 + 7 + 9 = 20

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use different dice together in one roll?

Yes. Our dice roller lets you combine different dice in the same selection. Each die keeps its own side count and produces a separate result before our dice roller calculates the combined total.

How does Custom Dice work in our dice roller?

Our Custom Dice option lets you enter any whole-number side count from 3 to 100. Our dice roller creates the custom shape using the number you enter and updates the displayed dots after each roll.

Why can our dice show different results each time?

Each time you roll, our dice roller generates a new result within the allowed range for that die. Because a new value is generated for each roll, the same dice selection can produce different results.

How is the total calculated for multiple dice?

Our dice roller adds the completed result from every selected die to calculate the total. For example, results of 4, 6, and 8 produce a combined total of 18.
